Rethink Your Strategy

Hello Reader,

So this is a reset for you. These are the Instagram basics that are so simple they often get ignored. Start here and you will immediately feel less scattered and more in control.

Who You Posting For?

Post for your ideal client, not for other coaches If you are secretly trying to sound smart for other coaches or people from your old industry, your content often flies right over your ideal client’s head.

Your ideal client is usually thinking:

“What am I doing with my life” “Why is no one booking” “How do I make this business work without burning out”

Before you hit publish, ask:

  • Would my actual client say this in her own words
  • Would she Google this
  • Does this help her move even one small step forward today

If the answer is no, you may have written content for your peers, not your people.

Everything You Want

Consistency beats intensity every single time Posting every day for two weeks and then disappearing for a month is not a strategy. It is a fast track to frustration.

You are better off with a calm, steady rhythm that respects the rest of your life.

For example:

  • 2 to 3 feed posts per week
  • 3 to 5 Stories on most days
  • 10 to 15 minutes of engagement a day

Is it glamorous? No. Does it work when you stick with it for a few months? Yes.

Think of it like strength training. You do not have to go heavy. You just have to keep showing up.

Stories Can Be Imperfect

Stories are for connection, not perfection Your posts build your expertise. Your Stories build your relationship.

People do not need you to be polished every second. They need to feel like they know you.

Use Stories to:

  • Share what you are working on today and why it matters to your clients
  • Talk to the camera like you are talking to one person, not an audience
  • Share small wins, small setbacks, and decisions you are making

Keep the design simple. One or two fonts, clear text, maybe a sticker. You do not win extra points for complicated designs. You win by being clear and present.

Engagement

Engagement is a strategy, not an afterthought Posting and then logging off immediately is like walking into a room, giving a speech, and leaving before anyone can respond.

If you want conversations, you have to help start them.

Basic, non cringey engagement habits:

  • Reply to every genuine comment
  • Answer DMs like you would talk to a friend, not like you are writing a press release
  • Spend a few minutes each day leaving thoughtful comments on content from your ideal clients and peers
  • Ask questions in your content that you actually care about

You do not need to live on Instagram. You just need a small, intentional daily habit.

Audit First

Audit before you add When Instagram feels like it is not working, the default thought is “I need to post more.”

Usually that is not true.

Ask yourself:

Is my profile clear about who I help and how Are my hooks strong Am I talking to one specific person Are my CTAs simple and consistent Have I actually been consistent for at least 60 to 90 days

Make small improvements based on these questions. Not every three days. Over time.

Here is your simple homework:

Take 10 minutes and tighten your bio. Decide on your 3 to 5 content pillars and write them down somewhere you can see. Look at your last 9 posts and ask: Do these help my ideal customer take a step towards a goal?

You do not need a brand new identity or a completely different personality. You need clear foundations that support the work you already know how to do.
