Hello Reader,
Overcoming Visibility Fears: How Coaches Can Show Up
It only takes eight seconds of courage to transform your coaching journey.
The Shy Kid Under The Coats is Your Instructor
Picture a young boy so shy that he would hide under a pile of coats at every family gathering just to avoid speaking to anyone. As he grew into his teens, he found comfort behind the lens of a camera, capturing moments but never stepping into them.
Adulthood brought new challenges. As an entrepreneur, especially in coaching, hiding wasn’t an option anymore. Networking events became overwhelming, and the thought of being on camera was paralyzing. To cope, I crafted a persona—the “antisocial guy”—convincing myself it was easier to pretend than to connect truly.
The Breakthrough Moment
That all changed when a coach friend threw down a challenge: go live on video for ten straight days. The first few were awkward and uncomfortable; actually, let’s be honest, they were terrible.
But then, something shifted after Eve told me I had to pull myself together. Looking back, I see that I was his own biggest roadblock. All it took was a shift in my mindset to change the content I was putting out. By the fourth video, things started to flow. By the tenth, I wasn’t just showing up. it was engaging.
The next challenge was even more significant: 100 live videos over 100 business days. This was the real turning point. My audience grew from 43 to over 400, but more importantly, I gained confidence. I started showing up consistently for my business, for my clients, and most importantly, for myself.
From No Way to Fearless Support
Coaching others on video presence was never part of my plan, but it’s become one of the most rewarding aspects of my journey. Helping people find their voice and develop their signature style just like I had to feels like a full-circle moment.
