Hello Reader,
The Story Lab
🔥 The Story Lab is officially live and we’re kicking off with stories that demand to be heard.
Let’s be real, you’ve probably heard a million times that you “need to share your story” if you want to grow your brand or make an impact.
But no one tells you how to do it. Or what parts to share. Or how to do it without feeling exposed and emotionally wrung out.
That’s one of the reasons I created The Story Lab. It’s not just a podcast. It’s a movement for creators, coaches, and entrepreneurs who are ready to stop playing small and start telling stories that actually connect with clients, communities, and even culture.
And now… it’s LIVE.
In our first three episodes, I’m pulling back the curtain on how a hate crime that left me face down on the pavement became the spark that changed federal legislation.
It’s raw. It’s honest. And it’s proof that one voice, one story can make a difference.
Here’s what’s waiting for you in these first episodes:
✅ Episode 1: When My Story Changed a Law
I was attacked, and then the court handed my attacker nothing more than anger management, I was crushed. But then something shifted, and I found my voice. And I used it.
That story reached the Senate floor. Senator Ted Kennedy used my experience as a case for passing hate crimes legislation that would eventually change U.S. law. It all started with a story.
✅ Episode 2: What Should You Actually Share?
This is the question I get asked more than anything.
So I’m giving you my personal three-color framework:
đźź© Green: The stuff you must share
🟥 Red: The stuff you keep for yourself
🟨 Yellow: The “bridge” material that connects your story
This episode will help you decide what belongs in your brand story and what doesn’t without guilt or second-guessing.
✅ Episode 3: Why Stories Matter More Than Ever
We unpack why storytelling is the tool for creating cultural shift.
Think:
- How stories increase oxytocin in the brain and deepen connection
- Why stories are wired into our evolution
- How personal narratives like Me Too or “rags to riches” literally shape the way we see the world
- And why YOUR story isn’t “too small” — it’s what someone needs to hear right now.
If you’re a coach, creative, or service-based entrepreneur trying to be seen, trusted, and remembered — this podcast is for you.
Your story isn’t a side note.
It is the strategy.
It’s how you stand out.
It’s how people connect with you, buy from you, and believe in what you do.
And guess what? You don’t have to overshare to make an impact.
You just need the right approach and that’s exactly what we’re building inside The Story Lab.

P.S. These first few episodes lay the foundation for everything I am doing in The Story Lab. If you’re someone who’s been sitting on your story wondering if it’s “too much,” “not enough,” or “not the right time” this is the sign you’ve been waiting for.
